In July the inspiration for this post is everywhere and in every imaginable color. And in some colors we may not have imagined. There are about 200,000 known kinds of flowers on earth in ever shape, size, color, texture, and fragrance. Every mind is stimulated by this aspect of creation consciously or subconsciously. Those with clarity of mind and senses are more stimulated. Why is this smorgasbord of color available and what stimulation does it provide to the human mind? Materialist have convinced themselves that the why should be limited to dirt and wavelengths. The human being knows instinctively that “the soul unfolds itself like a lotus of countless petals” Khalil Gibran . So the questions persist. By way of reminder we discuss here the concept of creation as a mind stimulant.
Flowers we have always had from the lotus flower prominent in ancient Egypt 4000 years ago to the “rose by any other name is a rose” made famous in Western consciousness by William Shakespeare. The sunflower, lily, cherry blossom, and iris are all part of that pantheon each with their own mystic, lesson and stimulation. Everything in creation has a message for the mind, should the mind be observant.
None of us created the gorgeous magnetic array of flowers spread across the world. Why have 200,000 different flowers of exquisite beauty existed for tens of thousand of years ? How does it stimulate the mind and for what end?
There is a saying that I’ve heard , If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound? This saying points to the primacy of human consciousness to make sense of the world.
The same applies to flowers. Would they be as enchanting without the human being? They are for the stimulation of the mind. Are they only to stimulate an appreciation of beauty? Should that be the only effect that would be major. Humans will continue to progress as they develop greater appreciations for beauty. Whose psyche or emotions are not stimulated for the better at the sight of a flower? My sense of human nature tells me only Freddie Kruger1 would not be moved. Unfortunately the growing crudeness and cruelty of post modern 21st century is creating too many Freddie Kruger’s. You can perhaps stop the spread of the more Freddie Krugers

Flowers are known to stimulate several chemicals like dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin in our brains. These are the “happy' chemicals”. And whenever we see or receive some pretty flowers our brain instantly receives and recognizes as a spark, of gladness happiness, and or joy. The effect is automatic even in some of the most depressed of people. Science confirms this with new studies that show
that drugs that activate a specific type of serotonin receptor called the 5-HT4 receptor can improve cognitive function.2 When you can tap into the universal groove of creation the need for drugs is nil. Not only happy effects of beauty are simulated but according to the study cognitive development is stimulated as well.

I have relayed previously in this blog the quote from the Qur’an 71;17 Allah (Gd) has created the human being like a plant growing gradually from the earth. In our material age we have a tendency to think only of physical growth, But cognitive growth is included in the “growing gradually from the earth” mentioned in the above Qur,anic quote in addition to spiritual and psychological growth. All openminded people can see that humans are being addressed here not just Muslims even though it is a Qur’anic quote.
The ubiquity of flowers and their usefulness would no doubt have eventually made this impact on some humans. I am sure the medicinal and commercial aspect of flowers is counted in the hundred of billions of dollars. There are some people who know and have known that the world is structured on a knowledge base of how everything in the world (flowers included) is designed to create human thinking and behavior. So the question becomes what human thinking and behavior does and has the multitude of flowers created. The above Qur’anic verse gives us a lot of help. Each of us is a creator and may be able to divine other complementary ideas.
The various flowers may have caused some insightful ancients to recognize that people could be seen as flowers with potential for growth and beauty with a variation numbering at a minimum 200,000 as is alluded to by the variation of flowers. Would this not be valuable knowledge if held secretively by an elite in the Middle ages when the majority of people had sensibilities not much above beasts and were treated as such by the ruling classes of the church and “nobility” Is it valuable information today?

The so called Flower of Life an overlapping circles grid is a geometric pattern of repeating, overlapping circles of an equal radius in two-dimensional space. It has taken on various iterations across cultures. It alludes to the interconnectivity and unity of all life as life “ flowered” around our planet. This “ flower of life” seems an app symbol to encapsulate this idea of unity. The problem however is everything has been kept in a symbol and not actualized in the life of the human being.
What did Jesus say ( as)3. My sense with such a knowledge body as described above is what Jesus the Christ (as) was in touch with and is encoded in The Biblical scripture for all time. Currently it is locked up in fairytale language and is pretty useless to effect individual and societal development.
Let’s parse the famous scripture known at least on the surface by most literate people in The Western world. Matthew 6.28 -29

Consider means to look, analyze, observe, and understand. In that sense it is a command to become scientific not ohwee fuwee or spiritually drunk. Also the environment around the lily would have to be considered as well as the climate with its attendant insights. Scriptures are not to be read without thinking unless control is sought.
Goodness is on the rise
The beautiful lily is developed gradually and naturally without a single theft, gunshot or argument. Several additional hints for human development. And what is created creates more awe than the richest king in the world dressed in his finest. Today we would compare it to the recent hip hop mogul who purchased a 20 million dollar diamond studded watch, conceivably the only one in the world. 4 This verifies King Solomon’s observation that “ there is nothing new under the sun”. A single radiant dew kissed flower carries more awe in reality than Jacob, the Jeweler’s gold and diamond studded watch.
The lily (flower) figures in Greek mythology as well. The story goes that the baby Hercules while nursing at the breast of his mother Hera was sucking so vigorously that when the baby was pulled from her breast the spilled droplets of “ divine milk” fell to earth and formed the white lily.
Finally a flower figures prominently in instructions to human beings to remain engaged in the world and not fall victim to the doomsday preachers.
